Vintage Items #1

Spent some of the day clearing out some of things at my Grandma's today, not a pleasant job, but a job that has to be done none the less. Going through everything and deciding whether to keeps things or to throw them away or sell them is so hard. I had the difficult job of going through her clothes, some of the pieces she owned truly were magnificant, but they all smelt of her which brought tears to my eye. But anyways, i got to decide what i wanted to keep.

Here is my one of two posts featuring some of the items that i have decided to keep for myself, the second post will feature this time next week. (i've queued some posts to post when i'm away) All these items are Vintage.

Shirt: A very delicate short sleeved lace shirt. The lace detail on the shirt is of flowers and looks very victorian. I don't particularly like the way it buttons all the way up to my neck, it makes me feel kind of neckless, so i've decided it looks best on me with the top two buttons left undone. This shirt is so beautiful!

Top: This top was part of a suit set a matching skirt with the same print came with it, but it did not fit. Is it just me or from a distance does this top looks like the pattern is of loads of snakes intwining with one another? Perhaps it's just me. Infact the pattern is golden and green leaves and flowers, pretty odd, but i like it. The shoulders have a slight padding to

Cardigan: A real 100% wool, knit chunky cardigan. Perfect for the upcoming colder months which are fast approaching which is perfect for me as i feel the cold incredibly. I like the way grey and white stripes look so innocent together, to me they appear really angelic, so i know i'm going to feel mega cute wearing this.

Cardigan: This cardigan has like an ivy pattern going down both breasts of it and the buttons look like pearls. There are no labels on it to tell me what material it's made from but it's quite warm to wear, and although it doesn't look it, it's actually quite thick.

I understand that these photos aren't giving you a clear look at what these pieces look like, but i thought i'd show you what the front and the back of these pieces look like. Obviously you'll get a better view of these when i'm wearing them and feature them in an outfit post, which i'm most certainly going to do soon!

Top+Skirt+TightsTopshop Cardigan: Vintage

First time you've seen me in a tube skirt in a long while! I really dislike the way tight fitting clothing shows off every imperfection, it really is such a moodkiller and i don't think i can ever really feel confident or comfortable in something tight fitting, such a shame when some of the truly best items of clothing are figure sculpting. But thats by the by, my own opinion. I'm wearing a black dress on underneath, but we'll pretend its a top, i'm such a cheat haha, the crease you can see a quarter of the way down the skirt is the dress sitting there as it looked stupid baggy. I love this vintage cardigan, it's so cute and feminine, i like the fact it's quite long too, much more of a fan of the long cardigans than the shorter ones, i personally think that they're more flattering.

My poor boyfriend and his friend were the only 2 in their group NOT to get their suitcases in Zante! There was a fault with one of the luggage conveyer belts and their luggage, among with many others on their flight didn't make it onboard and is still at London Gatwick. They flew out on Thursday and may not get their luggage till Monday!! Must say, i feel incredibly sorry for them at the moment. So a note to all you travelling, MAKE SURE YOU PUT A TAG ON WITH YOUR DETAILS! Just incase this happens to you! Luckily they both did, but i'm sure there were people on that flight who won't be seeing their luggage again to having no tags.

I spent my day today with two of the girls i'm going on holiday with, was nice to have a good catchup with them and share our excitement among eachother! We went and got t-shirts printed up too! I'll post a photo of mine tomorrow to show y'all. They say 'I <3 Zante' on the front (obviously with an actual heart) and then with nickames on the back. The nickname on my shirt is 'Posh', mainly to do with my obsession with Victoria Beckham, but also because i dress quite poshly. I didn' particularly want a name such as 'Clumsy' or 'Clutz' on the back. A really good nickname hit me once we'd got them printed though, i should of got 'Bambi' on the back, because everyone always tells me how cute i am and i'm extremely clumsy.. ohwell suppose that's an idea for next year! Any of you really excited for your holidays? Where are you  off to?

Playsuit: Miss Selfridge Snood: Tesco Tights: Topshop

I've had this playsuit for ages but i've never actually worn it, i don't actually think i like it, i don't really know, i don't think it suits my shape, or just me in general. Was definately one of those 'spur of the moment' buys. I don't particularly like the ruched sleeves, i feel as if they look like wings! For me also, it sits a tad too low, i don't really like showing my cleavage, although it does make it look as if i actually have boobs, that's always a plus i suppose! Due to my dislike of showing my cleavage i decided to wear a white cobweb snood with it, i actually think it looks quite good and i definately prefer the outfit with the snood as oposed to not wearing it. It is a bit baggy in all the places it should be tight which is a bit of a nuisance, i reckon i'd be more taken with this piece if it actually fitted correctly! The colour is gorgeous though, such a lovely shade of red.

I have this major urge to just moan about everything today, i feel so weird. Like, i feel so motivated to do so much today, yet i genuinely don't have the energy, so annoying! On a good note though, in exactly a weeks time i'll be in Zante, travelling to the hotel i think. Cannot wait! There are so many things i still need to get for my holiday though, and i'm going to be really cheeky and ask for all your help in where i can get some cheap bits and bobs. So.. i need... bikinis, a beach bag, sandals (that zip up at the back and will stay on my feet when clubbing) If you know of anywhere that's got some really good deals, please let me know, as if i'm going to order i need to do it today or tomorrow. ALSO. i need a fancy dress costume for the first night i'm out there. Me and my girls will be meeting up with my boyfriend all his friends for some of his friends birthdays, and we're all dressing up. So, easy, cheap fancy dress ideas that i can put together would be much appreciated too!

Vest: Topshop Shirt: Vintage Jeans: Tesco
Heres yesterdays outfit, i didn't have time to blog yesterday, not that i actually did anything interesting with my life, my M.E was just quite bad all of a sudden and i spent the majority of the day either asleep or resting. I'm using a different setting for my photos here too, my finally finiished pond area  in my backgarden. Thought i'd give you a little look into what it looks like. Full of little fishies, plenty of colourful flowers, pebbles and a small flowing waterfall, which gives it such a cute touch. Oh, and the fountain ofcourse. So cute! My mum and dad are so proud of this, this project of theres had been ongoing for ages, such a relief to finally get it finished!

So, in this outfit i'm wearing quite a simple outfit here, ultimately it's just a pair of jeans teamed with a vest top and a shirt. These off-black jeans are from Tesco, as i managed to lose my much loved Asos pair, don't ask me how, all i know is that they've disappeared. I'm wearing a burgandy vest which is plain and around £6, always good to have cheap little vests in your wardrobe! This shirt i'm wearing is Vintage and is rather large, but i think it looks quite nice floaty. Instead of buttoning it up and letting it hang loosely i've tucked the bottom into my jeans still allowing it that floaty effect. I think it looks quite nice and i'm going to try wearing a lot more shirts or blouses like this. What do you think?

My boyfriend goes to Zante tomorrow, i cannot express my jealousy. I'm going a week later and i cannot
wait, just want to get there and kind of forget everything suckish and go wild! I have about a week to lose the holiday weight i gained while away with him, i really need to stay motivated on the exercise front!! I need to stick to salads and fruit and stop indulging on unhealthy crap!

Cardigan: New Look Top: Topshop Skirt: Vintage

Oh yes, i have a bit of colour to me, a natural tan, defiately beats my usual pastey whiteness! Also, the sun in Faliraki managed to lighten my hair and it's now at the colour i oringally wanted it to be when i got it dyed. It's more of a honey brown now, the blonde highlights are now more promanent and has blended with the brown, and tada, my hair now looks better, yeah better is probably the correct word.

I decided to step outside my comfort zone today with this skirt, not only is it a maxi skirt, but it is also white. I don't remember the last time i wore white on the lower half of my body due to the fact that it does make you appear larger. Unfortunately i'm "blessed" with wide hips and large thighs, and the only downside with this skirt is that i do think that it highlights them. Besides that, i really do like this vintage skirt that previously belonged to my mum and that she wore when she was around my age. You can see it definately has that hippy vibe about it right? I decided to wear this skirt with a black vest top tucked into it, the colours together go well together, but i thought it needed a bit of a colour oomph, so i decided to add this cropped tangerine coloured cardigan. I'm wearing a chunky silver cross necklace which i think kind of enforces the hippy vibe i was going for. If only i had ridiculously long hair and a headband in my hair.. i'd definately of pulled off the look then!

I'm Backkkkk!

Seems like i've been gone for ages right? Tell me about it! I haven't blogged in what seems like forever, i've been such a bad blogger recently, major apologies! I have some great posts lined up for you all, so keep checking back! Right.. so how am i? Well i'm alright i suppose..same old, same old. It was so nice to get away, was muchly needed, it really did me the world of good, returning with a nice tan too, that's always a plus! Back to reality sucks though, was lovely to come back and have a big cuddle with my mum, but back to the English weather, and my boring life, well yeah, it's just so dull compared to being in Faliraki. My holiday with Sam was lovely, relaxing during the day, and only being about 1km away from the manic nightlife of Faliraki meant we had the option of enjoying it too, which we took full advantage of! We were in an all inclusive hotel, so free cocktails, drinks and food. YUM. Only another 2 weeks till i'm off on holiday again, this time to Zante for 10 days with the girls, eeek! The temperature in Faliraki was between 33-37 degrees celcius and they reckon in the next couple weeks, greek islands, such as Zante are going to reach temperatures as high as low 40's.. CRAZY!

1) Just arrived in Rhodes. 2) 2 Blue Lagoon cocktails with shots. 3) Second night. 4) The view from our balcony. 5) Being Childish. 6) Before a night out. 7) At the top of a Ferris Wheel!! 8) Playing pool.

The holiday was so good for me and Sam! It gave us time to bond again and get to know eachother a lot better. We were totally independent, and it was just lovely to be away from everything back in England and to spend some pure quality time together. Despite odd little arguments about nothingness, we actually coped very well in solely eachothers company for a week! No idea how Sam managed to cope with me for that long, he deserves a medal haha!

I'll do a couple posts on outfits that i wore when away too. Also.. i have a huge wardrobe, as in.. huge and filled with over 50% of items that are unworn.. Would you be interested in me perhaps setting up a blog shop? Let me know what you think!

Anyways, long time away, but i'm back with a bang! Will catch up on blogs asap (promise!) Hope everyones gooooooooooood!
